Description
The museum serves as repository and displays for objects found at Tel Dor and of underwater archaeological finds retrieved by the center’s diving team. The large assortment of anchors, jars and remnants of navigational tools attests to the range of activities of the Port of Dor in the earlier periods, including the retreat of Napoleon’s armade in 1799. In the museum, there is a display of finds from the Tel Dor excavations, carried on since 1980. Among the finds are figurines, storage jars, oil lamps, jewelry and more, the restoration of which is impressively done by the excavating staff. Through the use of documents, photographs and glasswares, a special exhibition demonstrates the history of the building.
