Description
The Okashi Art Museum is located in an ancient Ottoman arched building near the Knights Halls in the ancient city of Akko.
The Museum displays temporary exhibitions of Israeli contemporary Art as well as permanent exhibition of works by the late artist Avshalom Okashi. For most of his life the artist lived, worked and created in his studio in Akko, which following his demise, became the OKASHI MUSEUM.
The subjects of his first works are inspired by the scenery, the human landscape and the spirituality of the land of Israel.
Avshalom Okashi was one of the founders and leaders of "New Horisons", a group of artists that was formed following the War of Independence.
