    The museum, which is located at the foot of Mount Tabor, near the Biblical Ein Dor, sheds light on the rich and exciting past of the region through its permanent and temporary exhibits. Its archaeological artifacts reveal the ancient way of life of the area and enable the visitor to investigate hands-on the unique material culture of the past. A museum visit is complemented by a guided tour, a variety of activities and a hands-on experience related to one of the ancient crafts (from the olive grove to the press and from wheat to baking bread) depending on the season.   • Museum of Prehistory (Archaeological Museums)
    This museum deals with the prehistorically period of the Chula Valley and the nearby area. There is an ethnographic exhibition from all parts of the world, illustrating prehistoric times. The earliest artifact in the museum is from half a million years ago. The museum includes stone, flint and bone artifacts, and bones of elephants and other animals from all the prehistoric periods, and 12,000-year-old skeletons.

  • Museum of Regional and Mediterranean Archaeology (Archaeological Museums)
    This unique museum is close to the route of one the country’s most important ancient roads, over which goods, people and armies traveled from the Mediterranean basin to the lands of the East. In the museum “Discoveries in the Beth Shean Valley”, “A small Bronze Age Canaanite temple reconstructed” and another interesting exhibit demonstrates ancient weaving techniques, utilizing implements for spinning and weaving discovered in the remains of an Israelite village excavated at the museum site. NEW: A new exhibition displaying rare Etruscan artifacts and utilizing new ways of display combining smell, sounds and 3-D.

  • Museum of Yarmukian Culture (Archaeological Museums)
    The Museum at Kibbutz Shaar Hagolan is world famous for the number and quality of items displayed in it. The visitor gains a comprehensive picture of daily life as well as of the art and cult of 7.500 year old Neolithic farmers’ village on the bank of the Yarmuk River. This culture was first unearthed in Shaar Hagolan and has been named the Yarmukian Culture. The largest assemblage of prehistoric art objects ever found in Israel comes from the site of Shaar Hagolan. The finds, which number of 150 items, include human figurines made of clay and pebbles, basalt pebbles incised with geometric patterns, and pendants. The village at Shaar Hagolan was one of the most important cultic and artistic centers in the Near East.

  • The Archaeological Museum of Hatzor (Archaeological Museums)
    The museum houses major finds excavated at the adjacent site of ancient Hatzor, now a national park. Hatzor was a fortified city conquered from the Canaanites by Joshua and then used as a chariot base and food repository throughout the period of the Israelite Monarchy. It is the most important archaeological site in northern Israel.

  • Bar-David Museum of Jewish Art and Judaica (Art Museums)
    The Bar-David Museum, dedicated to Arts and Judaic, is located in Kibbutz Baram, on the northern border. The museum bears the name of its donors, Moshe and Tova Bar-David. The museum spreads over three stories: the hall for biannual exhibitions from the large permanent collections; a huge hall for the purpose of changing exhibitions of painting, sculpture, photography with the archaeology room on side with objects from the region, ceramic and glass artifacts, jewelry and statuettes; the youth branch and groups and families workshops in different languages.

  • Elsaraya – Art and Culture Gallery (Art Museums)
    Elsaraya – Art and Culture Gallery – founded in 2006 in the city of Nazareth. Its main cause is to increase local and global awareness of the city of Nazareth while uncovering its cultural, social, and historical values and to show that Nazareth is a symbol of the co-existence between the three religions in the country. The Gallery is dwelled in a house built between the years 1880 – 1890. It is considered as the most beautiful place in the city. At the time, it served as the home of Daher El-Omar. The house is decorated with wooden ceiling painted in an Arabic style and artistic paintings made from oil. They are characterized with beauty and quality. The exhibition titles at the Gallery frequently change. Today, the exhibition that is being displayed is “Orr 2006” (or Light 2006) where many artistic pieces are being displayed by artists who made it to the final round

  • Mishkan LeOmanut, Ein Harod (Art Museums)
    The largest museum in the north in Israel, commanding a view of the Jezreel Valley, and Mount Gilboa panorama. The museum’s expansive halls illuminated by natural lighting and the sculpture courtyards provide a home for one of the most important collections of art in the country. The collection includes Jewish liturgical art and works from the nineteenth century till the present day: in painting, sculpture, graphic art and photography.   • Tal Gallery in Kfar Vradim (Galleries and Artists Houses)
    Tal Gallery was founded by the Greenfeld family in the memory of their son Tal, a young artist who died at age twenty three, leaving a collection of more than eighty paintings and hundreds of drawings. Since 2002 Tal Gallery performs in cooperation with local artists living and creating in Kfar Vradim. The Gallery exhibits changing group and single exhibitions of Israeli artists together with exhibitions from Tal works collection. Tal Gallery, hosted several group exhibitions of Jewish and Arab artists from the vicinity of the Western Galilee area and an exhibition in cooperation with the Jewish community in Belgium, an exhibition of the finalists of Alix de Rothschild award for 2005, young artists exhibitions and many more. Tal Gallery performs annual 5-6 exhibitions, festive openings, gallery talks and art lectures. The Gallery hosts children and young student’s art educational visits. The Gallery indents to give opportunity to young promising artists, showing Israeli Contemporary Art and initiating Art projects in the community.   • Beit Hameiri Museum - Jewish Settlement (Historical Museums)

    The museum is situated in kibbutz Dgania A (Alef). Dgania Alef is the first kibbutz in Israel that was founded in 1909. Various agricultural implements and tools are among its exhibits.   • Hanita Museum and Antiquites (Historical Museums)
    The museum is located in an ancient stone house and is comprised of: 1. tower-and-stockade section. The riots of 1936-39 and the circumstances that produced the overnight building of Tower-and-Stockade Settlements. The section deals with the purchase of the land, on which Hanita was built, and the security and organizational problems of the new settlement. There is an 18-minute audio-visual program (in 3 languages). 2. the archaeology section exhibits finds from the area of Hanita and the vicinity, including a mosaic floor from a Byzantine church of the 6th and 7th centuries CE. The floor is exhibited together with a model of the church.

  • House of the Anchors, Fishing Museum (Historical Museums)
    The museum is a unique assemblage of concepts, examples of technology and hitherto little-known artifacts relating to the fishing industry on the Sea of Galilee through the times. The museum collection includes such items as: models of nets, net sinkers and anchors, mooring stones, netting needles and rare pictures of newly discovered ancient harbours.   • Liebermann House (Historical Museums)
    Today, the Liebermann family building houses the Municipal Museum of the History of Nahariya. Visitors are invited to watch the audio-visual show about Nahariya’s past or make use of the interactive multimedia program which provides a wealth of information concerning Liebermann House and its role in the period of the British Mandate and in the years after the establishment of the State until today. In addition there is an art gallery as well as temporary exhibitions, and in the near future a cafeteria and a restaurant will be established.

  • Museum of Golani Division Heroism (Historical Museums)
    The memorial site set up at Golani Junction lies on a rocky hill overlooking a spectacular pine forest. The combatants of the Golani brigade fought fierce battles in this region during the Independence War.     The exposition of the museum is devoted to the dramatic events of 1920, when Tel-Hai and some other Jewish settlements in Upper Galilee were cut from the central part of the country and attacked by Arabs. Yosef Trumpeldor was at the head of the battle and was killed with other seven soldiers. Every year people gather here to honor the heroes.

  • The Kinneret Courtyard (Historical Museums)
    The Kinneret Courtyard (established in 1908) served as an agricultural and social laboratory during the period of the Second Aliya. It was here where the first buds of social experimentation developed, with ideas like the Kibbutz and the Moshav. Kinneret Courtyard was also a hothouse for burgeoning organizations, including the Hagana. Also the feminist revolution takes place in the Courtyard - the women’s training farm known as Chavat Ha’almot (the maidens’ farm) and the beginnings of the agricultural schools in Eretz Israel. It was only natural for the leaders of that period to live and workin the Kinneret Courtyard. They included A.D. Gordon, Berl Katzenelson, Ben Zion Yisraeli, Zalman Shazar, Yosef Bussel, Shmuel Dayan, Yitzhak Tabenkin, Levi Eshkol and Rachel, the poetess.

  • Trumpeldor House (Historical Museums)
    The museum is situated in kibbutz Tel-Yosef (road 71 from Afula to Beit Shean). Trumpeldor was the officer in the Russian Army. He was the first Jew-officer in the Russian Army. Yosef Trumpeldor was killed in the battle with Arabs near Tel-Hai (Upper Galilee) in 1920. In the honor of Trumpeldor and his seven friends the town Kiryat-Shemona (settlement of eights) was founded.

  • Lavon Sculpture Garden (Other Museums)
    The developing sculpture garden at Lavon is indeed a continuation of its "big brother" in Tefen Industrial Park Sculpture Garden. Installed in Lavon are works by Ilan Averbuch, Shlomo Schwarzberg, Achiam, Amos Kenan and a series of sculptures by Ofra Zimbalista. The sculptures can be regarded as figures who stepped out of the museum. They are not the domain of a limited museum audience, but become part of the daily life of those who visit and work in the Park.

  • The Music Box of Zami (Other Museums)
    “The Music Box of Zami” is a collection of 160 musical instruments, from 50 countries. Besides of dozens of string instruments, wind instruments, and some percussion instruments, there are the keyboards: Monochord, Clavichord, Harpsichord, Harmonium, Pipe organ and Piano. The visit in the “Music Box” is a Combination of Coffee, Cake, Collection and Concert.   • Hamizgaga museum – Nachsholim (Archaeological Museums)
    The museum serves as repository and displays for objects found at Tel Dor and of underwater archaeological finds retrieved by the center’s diving team. The large assortment of anchors, jars and remnants of navigational tools attests to the range of activities of the Port of Dor in the earlier periods, including the retreat of Napoleon’s armade in 1799. In the museum, there is a display of finds from the Tel Dor excavations, carried on since 1980. Among the finds are figurines, storage jars, oil lamps, jewelry and more, the restoration of which is impressively done by the excavating staff. Through the use of documents, photographs and glasswares, a special exhibition demonstrates the history of the building.

  • The Tikotin Museum of Japanese Art (Art Museums)
    The museum was founded in the year 1959, at the joint initiative of Felix Tikotin, a known collector of Japanese art who contributed his private collection, and the late Abba Chushi. The museum houses about 6,000 exhibits which include paintings, reprints, sketches, textiles, ancient ornamented books, ceramics, miniature statuettes etc. The exhibition hall is constructed in the spirit of the Japanese architecture. The museum’s library houses about 2,500 books and scientific publications on the subject of Japan and its culture.     The Municipal Museum of the history of Kiryat Ata is being established in the house of Fisher. This building,which was built towards the end of the 19th century, was the central building in the whole village called KFARTA. At the early days of Kfar Ata, the Muchtar, chief of the village, named Yehoshua Fisher lived here. He was the leader of the renewed Jewish settlement movement. After his death, he left the house in behalf of "TOM" association for the purpose of community activities. The Municipality of Kiryat-Ata and "TOM" association renovated the building , in which the Municipal Museum and the “Maalot Hagiborim” synagogue reside. In the Museum there are many items, with which we teach about the first settlers’ life, at home and outdoors in the fields as well. In the central hall of the Museum there is an exhibition named “From the Bird’s Eye”. Pictures taken, throughout the years 1945-2003, from up above the city, telling the story of the development of the city. The archive includes many documents, cassettes, pictures and memoirs of the first builders of this settlement, aside actual material based on publishing in the local newspapers ,and on community documentation, done mostly by volunteers and pupils’ works written under the title: YI, which means “Young Investigators”. At the Pedagogic Center there is a deductive material connected to the history of the city such as: articals, informasion pages, room games, outdoor games, activity papers, riddles, suggestions to educational projects and films which show the history of the place since it was first settled, some five thousand years ago. All this material is available for the educational sector , as well as for all the citizens of the town, who make use of it very often. The “Cathedral of Investing the city’s History “ continues in collecting, preserving, documenting, photographing and memorizing all that concerns the history of the city, including encouraging investigations in various fields such as: historical geography, muzeulogy, sociology and communication. Outer connections centralize mainly in the field of heritage at the Ministry of Education, the Department of Education in the Ministry of Environmental Services, the Museums’ Center at the Ministry of Science, the Organization of Nature Preservation, The Authority of Antiquities, and The Council of Preserving Buildings and Settlements Sites.

    The ethnical center is divided into two sections: The first part is dedicated to recreating a nineteenth century market place, the other to private collectors and their collections.     The model recreates Jerusalem in 66 CE. In that fateful year, the Great Revolt against the Romans erupted, resulting in the destruction of the city and the Temple. The ancient city was then at its largest, covering an area of ca. 445 acres (more than twice the size of the Old City today). The model thus reflects ancient Jerusalem at its peak, just before all was lost The model was built at the initiative of Hans Kroch, owner of the Holyland Hotel, in memory of his son Jacob, who fell in Israel’s War of Independence. Produced under the direction of Prof. Michael Avi-Yonah of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, it took four years to complete. The events of the day, the surrender and all its aspects, can be seen in the photos of John Philips, who accompanied the Jordanian Legion soldiers, and immortalized with his camera the battles and the conquest of the Jewish Quarter and its destruction. These photos are exhibited here, alongside photos of the same sites prior to the war and after the Quarter was restored.

In the wing named "The Yielding Sea" are revealed combined exhibits of marine archaeology and ecology. The archaeological finds include artifacts used by seafarers during their voyages and while weighing anchor in the port of Yavneh-Yam (Jamnia on Sea). The collection of ancient anchors reflects the development of naval vessels and commerce over a period of five thousand years. The ecological presentation emphasizes the involvement of humanity in its marine environment. It presents its beautiful, ugly and the recycled aspects and teaches us to preserve the treasures of the past and our vulnerable environment for future generations.     The Harry Oppenheimer Diamond Museum, located at the Israeli Diamond Center in Ramat Gan, is a showcase of the diamond industry in Israel that is celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2008. The museum has reopened after a renovation and complete redesign, using modern and sophisticated means of exhibition. The museum’s mission is to introduce the mysterious and magical world of the diamond to the public. Inside the museum visitors experience a virtual journey that allows them to meet experts in different areas and learn about the diamond’s formation, mining methods and manufacturing process from the rough stone to a polished gem. Industry trading practices, diamond attributes applications in jewelry and different fields in the industry are also revealed to visitors.     In a small grove on a green hill with benches, there is a site which tells the story of the guarding of Holon and its surroundings during the independence war prior to the establishment of the State of Israel. This site, located west of Kiryat Sharet and bordering the sand dunes was in the past, the only view of the area. In this sandy area "Hagana" members from Tel Aviv and the area trained and experimented with weapons and guarded "Derech Habitachon"- the security road. This site includes an old well which was deepened on the 1930’s still supplies water for the city of Holon. This well was a "Slik" - a hiding place for weapons. The building was built in an international style, known as "Bauhaus". The observation tower on the building served for signaling communications, accomplished by Morse code, heliograph and semaphore signaling, Different kind of trees and a display of weapons and hiding places – known as "Sliks", can be found in the garden surrounding the building The museum will reopen its doors with a new exhibit in the beginning of October 2009.

    This museum was formally inaugurated on July 1981. The purpose of the IJSHOF is to honor Jewish men and women worldwide, who have accomplished extraordinary achievements in sports and to recognize other Jewish men and women who have made significant contributions to society through sports. Elections to the Hall of Fame are conducted by the International Selection Committee, whose names are not publicly disclosed (other than the sitting Chairman – Mr. Joe Siegman). The idea of establishing the Hall of Fame was realized through the generosity of its founders in the USA, who continue to support it to this day, under the Chairmanship of Mr. Alan Sherman. Mr. Sherman was also the motivator behind the creation of the “Israel Sports Hall of Fame” in 1993, in conjunction with the Israel Olympic Committee. Its aim is to honor and give recognition to the delegations representing Israel in the Olympic Games. To date, 246 individuals and teams from 20 countries have been inducted in the museum.

    The permanent exhibition is aimed at documenting development of physical education and sport since the beginning of the past century to the present time. The first part is presented chronologically and in four chapters.     The Ayalon Institute presents the story of a secret factory that manufactured ammunition, built underneath a limestone hill. On the surface it was used for training groups of young people (garinim) for Kibbutz life. It was built and operated during the years 1946-1948. Established by the "Haganah", the largest Jewish underground movement during the British Mandate. This factory would develop into what is today called IMI (Israel Military Industries) or "TAAS". This special clandestine factory was prepared secretly in less than a month, 8 meters (25 feet) underground. Its openings were covered by a 10 ton oven and a large washing machine that camouflaged the noise of manufacturing bullets. The Ayalon institute was the largest IMI factory to operate underground and produced over 2,500,000 9mm bullets mostly for Sten guns during its three years of operation
